Gardening for Beginners
Growing the BEST tomatoes this summer is every edible garden lovers dream! So here are my top tips on how to grow the best tomatoes you’d ever grown.

1. Plant them deeply – this encourages good root development all along the stem, meaning they can take up water and nutrients better.

2. Use 3-4 stakes per plant when growing the tall (or indeterminate) varieties as they need the support. Put them in at planting to avoid disturbing the tomato plant roots later on. Use cloth or fabric ties to secure the plants.

3. Water eco-flo dolomite around each plant – this provides calcium & magnesium that are both essential for good tomato fruit production.

4. Pinch out the “suckers” on tall growing tomatoes ( DO NOT pinch of the suckers on bush type tomatoes) – pinching out helps keep the plants growth in a manageable state!

5. Don’t overhead water and remove the lowest leaves that touch the ground to reduce the risk of powdery mildew outbreaks. If one occurs grab some eco-fungicide and spray on the tops and bottoms of the leaves.

Ticked all these off your tomato list? Then sit back and get ready for a bumper summer tomato harvest!
