This insecticide spray is more for soft-bodied insects like aphids, slugs and mites – the kind that feast on your plant and basically suck the life out of it.
There are a few plants in my yard that just seem to attract the aphids, so I’ve learned now that a few times throughout the growing season, I need to spray the plant down with my homemade insecticidal soap to keep them at bay (and keep them from killing my shrub).
But I DO NOT use store bought insecticidal soaps…again, full of chemicals. It’s very easy to make your own with a few simple ingredients, so no need to spend money on the store bought kind.
To make this recipe, you need:
1 spray bottle
2 Tablespoons of ALL NATURAL liquid soap. Unscented Castile Soap or Ivory Dish Soap are the best kinds to use
1 Tablespoon of Canola Oil
4 cups of Water
Mix together and pour in the spray bottle….and spray away. Get rid of those nasty pests!
Happy Gardening!
